Samburu Intrepids Luxury Tented Camp is set in the Kenyan semi-arid north, Samburu Intrepid is a lush oasis on the banks of the great Ewaso Nyiro River in Samburu National Reserve. The tented luxury camp is a delight to be in-deliciously cooled by the river breeze and the forest. The camp sits on a raised decks overlooking the brown river where the elephants sometimes make an appearance or the crocodiles come out to lounge by the river’s banks.

The main lodge is built in a grove of trees, and thus trunks and branches reach through the expanses of wooden decking. There is an open sided leafy dining room and smaller bar area where slide shows are presented each evening, set back from the river is a pretty pool area, perfect for the heat of the day.

Samburu Intrepid offers 28 modern and newly refurbished tents with a private view over the wildlife-rich banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River. Each tent sits on a raised deck overlooking the brown river where the elephants sometimes make an appearance or the crocodiles come out to lounge by the river’s banks. Most of the tents are under shady trees and look toward the river although the view is obscured by the trees. Each tent has four-posted bed, en suite bathroom and deck with comfortable chairs.

The spacious tents at Samburu Intrepid Tented Camp come with a 4-poster bed with a mosquito net, each has mahogany furniture and wooden floors. All have a modern, private bathroom with a double vanity and a flush toilet

There are many activities that are available and done by the tourists from the lodge during their Kenya safari. How to get to Samburu Intrepids.

Samburu Intrepids can be accessed by both air and road transport from Nairobi to the lodge.

By Road transport.

Samburu intrepids is 345 kilometers and a six-hour drive from Nairobi through the scenic settler towns of Nanyuki and Timau.

By Air transport.

The all-weather Samburu airstrip is an hour’s and 20 minutes’ drive away, the airstrip, which is located on the Buffalo Springs National reserve is serviced twice daily by both the safari link and Air Kenya from the Wilson Airport in Nairobi.
