3 Days Kibale Chimpanzee Trekking Safari
The 3 Days Kibale Chimpanzee Trekking Safari offers unforgettable primate encounter in Uganda’s Kibale national park. Begin in Kampala and transfer to Kibale, home to over 1500 chimpanzees. Day one explorer the park’s lush tropical forests, spotting monkeys, birds and other wildlife. Day two you explore and experience chimpanzee trekking and bigodi wetland sanctuary walk and that will make your safari come to the end of the safari in the next third day.
Day 1: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park.
On the first day of three days 3 days Kibale chimpanzee trekking safari. Your driver guide will pick you either at your hotel or Entebbe International Airport and brief you about the safari. After the briefing you will begin your journey to Kibale Forest National Park, the primate capital of the world, you will have the magnificent views along the way that makes your safari amazing, you will have the lunch enroute. After lunch proceed with your journey until you arrive Kibale. Upon your arrival check into your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi Nature walk.
On Day 2 of your 3 days Kibale Chimpanzee Trekking safari, you’ll wake up early for a relaxed breakfast, and meet with your driver to drive you to the park headquarters for a briefing on expectations and rules and regulations to carry during chimpanzee trekking. After the briefing you will be split into different groups of 6 people per group with the presence of armed park rangers will take you into the jungle to find habituated chimpanzees that are familiar to the park trails. Chimpanzee trekking takes a period of about 30 minutes to 4 hours depending on the location of the chimpanzees.
During the chimpanzee trekking safari, you spot endless wildlife like Vervet monkeys, Red colobus monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys, blue monkeys, mangabey monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, and more. You’ll see buffaloes, leopards, bush pigs, sitatunga, golden cats, forest hogs, bushbucks, mongooses, duikers, and more. You can also see colourful and beautiful bird species like Dusky Crimsonwings, African pitta, Abyssinian ground thrush, Black bee-eater, Purple-breasted sunbird, crowned eagle, Blue-breasted kingfisher, Yellow-rumped tinker bird, Yellow-spotted Nicator, Green-breasted pitta, and others.
Once the chimpanzees are located you will be given one hour to be in their presence while watching them feed, groom, play, that’s when you take their pictures record their memories. After the one go back to the starting point and get chimpanzee trekking certificates for taking part in chimpanzee trekking. From their you will be driven back to the lodge for lunch and , freshen up and meet with your driver for an evening Nature walk in Bigodi wetland Sanctuary where you will sight out more primate, mammals, birds and lots of botanical plant species. After the evening nature walk you will go back to the lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 3: Departure.
On day 3 of 3 days Kibale Chimpanzee Trekking safari, you will wake-up on a relaxed breakfast at the lodge, check out of the lodge and meet with your drive to begin the journey back to Kampala where you will arrive during lunch hours, enjoy your relaxed lunch, have a brief city tour and transfer to Entebbe International airport for departures to the next destination or be dropped at any convenient place for you.
