DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Drive to Wilson airport & fly to Samburu Game reserve
Fly from Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve: Have your breakfast served at your hotel in Nairobi in case you had an overnight in Kenya a day before your safari. Otherwise, your safari will start direct from Jomo Kenyatta international airport where you will be expected to land early in the morning. Meet and greet our company representative who will be your safari guide/ driver throughout this 5 days flying Samburu & Maasai Mara safari. You will then embark on a short drive to Wilson airport where you will catch a domestic flight to Buffalo Springs Airstrip in Samburu National Reserve where you will then be driven to your reserved lodge for check in and lunch at leisure. After having your lunch, you will go for an afternoon game drive spotting animals such as lions, leopards, reticulated giraffe, elephants, long necked gerenuk antelope, Grevy’s zebra and Beisa Oryx among others. Day 2: Full day game drive in Samburu National Reserve
Full day in Samburu National Reserve: Have morning breakfast at your lodge on day 2 of 5 days flying Samburu & Maasai Mara safari and head to the reserve for a full day of game drive starting with the early morning game drive. Samburu National Reserve is perched on the banks of Ewaso Nyiro River hosting a variety of wildlife such as elephant, leopards, long-necked gerenuk, antelope, Beisa Oryx, reticulated giraffe among others which you will encounter during the full day of exploring the reserve. Day 3: Fly to Maasai Mara national reserve
Flight to Maasai Mara National Reserve: After breakfast at your lodge on day 3 of 5 days flying Samburu & Maasai Mara safari, you will check out and meet your safari driver for a transfer to the airstrip where you will catch a flight to Maasai Mara national reserve the top visited Kenya wildlife safari destination in Kenya. Upon landing at the airstrip in Maasai Mara national reserve, You will be picked from the airstrip and go for an afternoon game drive watching a number of animals such as lions, buffaloes, elephants, cheetahs, warthogs, elands, zebras, Maasai giraffe among others. Day 4: Full day excursion in Maasai Mara national reserve with Hot air balloon safari & Big 5 safari
Full day excursion: you will start your 4th day of 5 days flying Samburu & Maasai Mara safari, with an early morning hot air balloon where by company responsible for the hot air balloon with pick you up from your respective hotel as early as 5:00am depending on where you are located. You will then enjoy a full hour exploring the plains of Maasai Mara reserve from above. Upon landing, you will enjoy bush breakfast accompanied by a bottle of champagne. Enjoy a short game drive as you return to your lodge to meet up with your safari driver for a full day game drive in the plains of Maasai Mara national reserve. During the game drive, you will explore the savannah plains of the reserve and spot a number of animals such as lions, elephants, cape buffaloes, cheetahs, wildebeests, zebras, elands, gazelles and many birds. You will have picnic lunch set along the banks of Mara river or at any picnic site in the reserve. At the end of your full day Maasai Mara excursion, you will head back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.
Day 5: Morning game drives & Fly back to Wilson airstrip Nairobi
Fly to Nairobi: On day 5 of 5 days flying Samburu & Maasai Mara safari, have morning game drive followed by breakfast, checkout and be driven to the airstrip for your chartered flights to Wilson airport in Nairobi. When you arrive, you will be picked by your safari driver and drive to Jomo Kenyatta International airport for your departure flight or to your hotel in Nairobi in case you intend to spend an overnight in Nairobi.
