Murchison Falls National Park is renowned for sustaining the most powerful waterfall in Africa and numerous species of animals including elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, giraffes, hippos, waterbucks, bushbucks, Uganda Kobs, hyenas, crocodiles, Jackson’s hartebeest, warthogs, oribi among others plus bird species which will be seen during the game drives, boat cruise to the bottom of the falls and Nile Delta boat cruise. During the safari in Murchison Falls National Park, you can also participate in a chimpanzee trekking safari in Budongo forest where you will be able to spend one hour with the chimpanzees in their natural habitats.

Detailed itinerary.
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Murchison falls national park.
On the first day of the 5 days Murchison Falls National Park, our driver guide from our company will pick you either in Kampala or Entebbe and brief you on the safari before driving you to Murchison Falls National Park. The journey takes about 5 to 6 hours from Kampala to the park. You will have stunning views along the way, you’ll make a first stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking that is such a wonderful safari experience and you will have the opportunity to watch the incredible biodiversity while carrying out rhino tracking. After you will embark on your journey to the park with a second stop over for lunch in Masindi town and after lunch, you’ll drive to Murchison Falls National Park and head to the summit for stunning views of the waterfalls, scenery, vegetation, animals and others. After you will check into your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 2: Morning game drive and boat cruise to the bottom of the falls.
After an early relaxed breakfast on the second day of the 5 days big five safari in Murchison falls national park, your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge for a morning game drive where you can see the big four mammals that is buffaloes, elephants, lions and leopards and other animal species like waterbucks, warthogs, giraffes, Uganda Kobs grazing in the savannah plains, hyenas, lions, leopards, and other predators before they return to their hiding places, and various birds. After the game drive, return to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch you will go for a thrilling boat cruise to the bottom of the falls which begins at Paraa jetty landing site and takes about 2 to 3 hours. During the boat cruise, you can see hippos and crocodiles in water, elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, antelopes along the water banks, and viewing various bird species like fish eagles, kingfishers, and cormorants and others that is such an exciting experience. Return to the lodge for dinner, relaxation, and overnight after the boat cruise.
Day 3: Nile delta boat cruise and afternoon game drive.
After a delicious breakfast on the third day of the 5 days Murchison Falls National Park, you’ll meet your driver guide and go to Paraa jetty landing point for a 3- to 4-hour Nile Delta boat cruise. During the Nile delta boat ride, you can see numerous animal species like elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, Nile crocodiles, and variety of bird species, including rare shoebill stork, and breathtaking scenery.
After the boat cruise, you’ll return to the lodge for lunch, relax, and then embark on an evening game drive in the park to see the wonderful animal species you missed the day before. After the afternoon game drive, return to the lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking in Budongo forest.
On the fourth day of the 5 days Murchison Falls National Park, wake up early in the morning and take a delicious breakfast, after breakfast meet your safari guide and go to Budongo forest for chimpanzee trekking briefing about the rules and regulations to follow during chimpanzee trekking. After the briefing, you will walk into the jungle to find the chimpanzees with the presence of the park rangers that are familiar with the trails, which might take between 30 minutes to 4 hours hours depending on their location because they like to roam around in quest of food. During trekking, you will see other primates, bird species, tree and plant species, and once the chimpanzees are found, you will spend an hour with them in their habitat to learn about their behaviors, habits, feeding, breastfeeding, playing, fighting, hunting, grooming young ones, and taking photos and videos. After the one hour with the chimpanzees, you will drive to the lodge for late lunch and spend the rest of the day at your leisure.
Day 5: Departure to Kampala.
After a leisurely breakfast on the last day of the 5 days Murchison Falls National Park, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to embark on the journey back to Kampala with en-route lunch on the way. After arriving in Kampala, your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe International Airport for your flight or at your convenience.
