Day 1: Nairobi Lake Nakuru.
On the first day of the safari upon arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you will be met by our representative from Focus East Africa Tours and transferred to Lake Nakuru National Park, a protected game sanctuary for endangered species of the Black/ White rhino among other usual game such as the leopard and Lion. Upon your arrival you will check in your lodge and have lunch at the camp followed by an afternoon game drive until sunset with the wonderful views of the animal species like rhinos (black and white rhinos), Rothschild giraffes, cape buffaloes, olive baboons, impalas, waterbucks, hippos, colobus monkeys, spotted hyenas, zebras, gazelles, leopards, lions, pythons among others without forgetting some bird species like Speckled Pigeon, Dusky Turtle-Dove, Red-eyed Dove, Ring-necked Dove, Laughing Dove, Tambourine Dove, Namaqua Dove and among others. After you will be transferred back to your lodge for relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 2: Lake Nakuru – Maasai Mara.
On the second day of the safari, get up early in the morning and meet your safari guide and go for an early morning game drive before coming back for breakfast followed by departure for the world renowned Maasai Mara Game Reserve which means “spotted plains” in the Maa language. During the morning game drive you will witness the park’s magnificent early risers and after you will go back to the lodge for breakfast and checkout to Maasai Mara National Reserve. You will have the incredible views of the beautiful physical features along the way while heading to Maasai Mara National Reserve.
Once you arrive, you will check-in and be served with lunch and depart for an afternoon game viewing drive. Get ready to be amazed by the breathtaking views of undulating savannahs interspersed with sparse plants and dense bushes. As you go across endless plains, you get to encounter a wide range of creatures that you’ve only ever seen on television like lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, zebras, hippos, Thompson’s gazelle, baboons, black rhinos, giraffes, silverback jackal, hyenas, and warthogs among others. After the afternoon game drive you will be driven back to your lodge for diner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 3: Full day in Maasai Mara.
On the third day of your safari get up early in the morning and have a hearty breakfast, meet your safari guide and prepare for the full day exploration of the reserve. This will start with a morning game drive to enjoy the sighting of the early risers thus the magical big five mammals including the lions, rhinos, buffaloes, elephants and leopards, you may also see giraffes, wildebeests, thousands of impala, topis, grants and Thomson’s gazelle. Birds are prolific including immigrants, 450 bird species have been recorded among them 57 birds of prey. Mara is the scene of annual migration of millions of wildebeest up from the Serengeti plains in search of water and grasses. While in Mara, you will have the option to float above the Mara-Serengeti ecosystem on board a hot air balloon followed by a gourmet champagne breakfast (at an extra cost). And also another option of Maasai village tour. After a whole day in Maasai Mara National Reserve you will be taken back to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 4: Maasai mara / Lake Naivasha.
On the fourth day of the safari, you will get early in the morning and meet your safari guide and have an early morning game drive and return afterwards for breakfast. We check out shortly and make our way to Lake Naivasha which is the first of the Rift Valley Lakes and is set at the foot of Mount Longonot, on the north side. It was on Lake Naivasha that East Africa’s first air-passengers used to land in the flying boats of Imperial Airways. After lunch at the lodge, enjoy a walk by the shores of the lake, and take a boat ride to see a variety of birds hovering above. After you will be taken to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 5: Lake Naivasha-Departure.
Wake up early in the morning on the final day of the safari and be served with breakfast. After breakfast, check out from your lodge and drive out across and over the rift escarpment to Nairobi with lunch enroute along the way. After lunch you will proceed with your journey until Nairobi. You will be transferred either to your hotel in Nairobi or Kenyatta International Airport and this will make your safari come to an end.
